It’s “Inspire Your Heart with Art” Day!
Just another quirky made up holiday? Sure, but why not celebrate it? Who doesn’t love art? Don’t we all have a little artist within us anyway? So get out and see some art, share some of your own art, or just sit down with a good book – Books are a great form of art.
We are all touched by art daily, in some form or another. Whether you are reading a great book, watching a trending movie on Netflix, or listening to your favorite song while driving; art can inspire us.
Art can move us, stir feelings within us and bring laughter or tears. It can motivate us or support us through a tough day. A single image, whether photography or water colored, can bring us an unexpected smile, pique our interest, ignite anger or even teach us something.
There is an online calendar called National Day Calendar that hosts an annual calendar with just such fun and interesting events at Inspire Your Heart with Art Day. On this day, they recommend a list of ways to “Observe” the date, including: Visit an art gallery or attend a ballet performance. My favorites are: Listen to music, Share your art with others, and Start your masterpiece!
So, in honor of the day, here is my list of recommendations.

- Make a date with someone to Watch an Inspirational movie together tonight.
- Download and Listen to Your Favorite Artist’s Newest Album.
- Take a Walk at Lunch and Photograph What You See Along Your Path.
- Share your Art with others; Post a link in Social Media to your latest Book, Photograph, Painting or Hand Crafted Item.
- Begin your next art project, physically start it, don’t just think about it. You know you already have an idea in your mind so get it out of your mind and bring it to life.
- Read a new book or listen to an audio version of a favorite.
- Teach a child to paint, mold clay, or play an instrument. Share your knowledge and love of art with a young person.
